OSINT courses by Molfar Intelligence Institute

The personnel of our unit have attended several trainings conducted by the Molfar OSINT-agency team. We thank Molfar’s specialists for their friendly, professional, attentive approach to training and cooperation.

The explanations of the practical application of the experience of Molfar agency’s analysts

were important and informative. Molfar’s courses enabled our military personnel to quickly get acquainted with the topic of OSINT, acquire basic practical skills in information gathering and analysis, and understand the main rules and methods.

Many thanks to the management, trainers, and staff of the Molfar agency for their effective

support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and wish them new achievements in the fight against Russian armed aggression.

In April 2024, the OSINT agency Molfar, in collaboration with NDI and the NGO Wikimedia Ukraine, organized and conducted a series of two training sessions titled OSINT: Basic Principles and Safe Information Search on the Internet for the community of Ukrainian Wikipedia volunteers and representatives of the NDI’s Disinformation Coordination Hub.

Colleagues from Molfar agency offered a comprehensive and exhaustive training program that fully met the participant’s needs and expectations. Communication during the preparation of the training sessions was easy and productive. Serhiy Polozhay, a Senior Analyst at Molfar agency, delivered both of the training sessions perfectly. The balance between theory and practice which was achieved during the sessions, allowed participants not only to learn about theoretical approaches but also to receive comprehensive answers to their questions.

NDI is very satisfied with the collaboration with Molfar agency and will undoubtedly approach the agency with future cooperation proposals.

The training was very useful for me, as it helped me to systematize my existing knowledge and obtain new ones in the context of technical tools that can be used in my work. I found the part on searching for people and searching by visual images particularly useful.I use this knowledge already in my work (when writing debunking cases for AI4Debunk).

Besides, the training had very interesting practical tasks that helped to apply the new knowledge in practice. In general. I am satisfied with the training and want to apply even more knowledge from it in practice.

We at the Civil Awareness Center in Kyiv have been collaborating with the OSINT agency Molfar for the past two years (and we are confident that our partnership will continue in the future). During this time, we have jointly organized and conducted around 10 training sessions in Kyiv.

During our collaboration, everything was high-quality. It was comfortable to work on the communication during the preparation stages, as on the actual conduct of the trainings.

Another significant indicator is the feedback from the participants of our trainings. Over 400 people have participated in our joint trainings during this period, and with each training session, the number of participants has grown, receiving almost all the highest ratings in their feedback.

On behalf of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we would like to thank the Molfar agency’s team for conducting the two-day OSINT course. Our expectations for the course were fully met.

The course materials were of high quality: clear presentations, numerous additional resources for self-study, and extensive information on OSINT tools and their practical applications.


The practical tasks after each course module were especially beneficial. The information was easy to comprehend. The course lecturer was a professional in his field. He explained the material clearly and engagingly, and always responded to students’ questions. Also, eagerly encouraged students to share their experiences.


 As noted earlier, the course included many practical tasks that helped to consolidate theoretical knowledge, which is a significant advantage of the OSINT course from Molfar agency.

To summarize, it is worth noting that the course had: a clear structure; high-quality educational materials; a competent lecturer; opportunities for practical application of knowledge; insights into the practical experience of working with OSINT tools.

We are grateful for the new knowledge we gained from the course.

Systemic knowledge and skills in OSINT is exactly what the Global Aviation Register of Defaulter Companies BLACKLIST.AERO’s team lacked to improve our efficiency. Thanks to the fact that the entire BLACKLIST.AERO team took the basic OSINT course from the MOLFAR Agency, we were immediately able to apply the skills we had learned and identified the criminal of the aircraft parts fraud. 

In all of our subsequent OSINT applications, the knowledge gained from MOLFAR has not only helped us become much more efficient in finding relevant information on companies and individuals, but has also significantly reduced the time it takes to find such information.  

 The BLACKLIST.AERO team intends to continue to cooperate with MOLFAR Agency in the future in order to deepen our knowledge in OSINT field and to improve the acquired skills.

The training was as structured as possible, with concentrated useful information. The list of useful tools for searching and verifying data was also very helpful. The skills developed during this training have already been put into practice: in the selection and verification of cases with photo and video fakes, as well as in the following refutation of the disinformation narratives they promote.

Special thanks to the lecturer for the second part of the training and the interesting practical tasks. In general, the training was remarkable, valuable not only for the skills gained in working with open sources, but also for the analysis of “fatal mistakes” that help OSINT analysts find what they are looking for; this will help to be even more conscious of cybersecurity so that such mistakes are made as rarely as possible.
