What is this register about?

This register contains data on athletes who have publicly supported Russia’s war against Ukraine or deliberately remain silent and do not disclose their position, trying to quietly sit it out. The individuals added to this list not only compete in international competitions but also actively use their public influence to support the aggressive actions of Russia in Ukraine. Their silence is a tacit agreement with the crimes of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Among them are athletes who have obtained a license to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, even though they are military personnel.

Athlets from which countries this list includes?

This register primarily includes Russian and Belarusian athletes. It presents names, dates of birth, and examples of public statements and social media posts where athletes have expressed their stance. We have also added information about the athletes’ connections with Russia’s criminal government. They receive funds, for example, from CSKA, and participate in pro-Kremlin rallies. They have awards such as the “Order of Friendship.”

The register includes links to the athletes’ social media, news archives, and websites with their statements, which they are currently trying to hide. You will be able to directly review their posts.

Why do we need this register?

It is important to note that all individuals in the register have been added based on clear evidence of their support or silent consent to the war that Russia is conducting on Ukrainian territory. Some of them, as you will see later, not only express support for the Russian army but are also part of it—there are warrant officers and military personnel from the Russian reserve.

The purpose of this register is not only to inform people about the stance of individual athletes but also to promote understanding of the influence of public figures on shaping public opinion and supporting bloody conflicts.
